Diagnosis By Looking (Observation) :   

Observe all visible signs on the patient such as tongue (tongue diagnosis), Shen (spirit), color (skin, eyes, hair), body shape/posture, and facial features etc. in order to understand the health condition or disease status. Tongue diagnosis used to identify the nature/severity of the disease, the deficiency and excess of qi, blood, body fluid and the condition of the viscera and organs.

Diagnosis By Listening (Auscultation) :

The practitioner listens to the patient's speech, respiration, cough, and special sounds like vomit, hiccough etc. The various sounds emitted by the human body are produced in the physiological and pathological activities of the organs. It is a reflection of the changes in the function of the five internal organs, thus changes in sound can reflect internal lesions and can be used to determine which organ systems are disordered. 

Diagnosis By Asking (Interviewing) : 

To understand the beginning, development, symptoms, and diagnosis of the disease. Topics include medical history, living and environmental conditions, emotional problems, eating habits, specific issues related to the body.

Diagnosis By Palpation (Pulse Diagnosis) :  

By touching the patient's skin, hands, feet, abdomen and it’s lesions area to detect the local Hot/cold, soft/hard, tenderness/mass, types of pain or other abnormal changes to infer the location and nature of the disease. Pulse Diagnosis is when the Practitioner feels the radial artery of the patient’s both wrists to examines the characteristic of the pulse. Each characteristic of the pulse signifies a different organ and area with the issues that may afflict it. Pulse diagnosis also gives information on the state of balance of the body as a whole and the state of individual Organs.
